Blessings

These past few days have been great because of the following people:

1. Mayang- Last Thursday, I literally pulled Mayang out of bed to accompany me to Galle. I wasn't about to spend another couple of hours alone! I mean, going solo is cool for, like, one day. Another one, however, was a bit too much for me. :p Thankfully, she agreed to come along for the afternoon.

After depositing the ring, we went around to look for a gift for Allan. (It was their anniversary last Sunday, the 5th.) After looking at different shirts, we were finally able to narrow it down to three dynamite choices--well, as dynamite as we could get with the budget, anyway :D-- and take our pick. We went down to the food court for some lunch afterwards.

What made me so happy was the bonding that Mayang and I were able to have that day. Admittedly, we didn't really start off as the closest of friends back in high school. So it felt really nice to get the chance to talk to her and get to know her even better. We only got closer as friends during the latter part of our college years, and eversince, I've been blessed to see a side of her that I never knew before. We talked non-stop that afternoon... and I saw that she trusted me as much as I trusted her--which I never really thought could happen before. I was so UN-ready to end the afternoon that I decided to hang around her house afterwards. :)

If coming along with me on such short notice wasn't cool enough, she actually brought me dinner last Sunday! I had texted her about 5 messages of rants that evening, including one caused by having no dinner. :p I don't know, I just had to vent my frustrations. To my surprise, she replied, saying that she'd come over with some food for me, despite my protests, and showed up a few minutes later--with Allan and blondie kid--giving me take-out siomai and siopao!

How about that? :D

Thanks, Mayang... I wub you soooooooooooooooo much!!

2. Renee, Kris, and Je-An- Just a day after I came from Galleria, I was able to arrange another day out! :D This, time, Renee, Kris, Je and I watched The Notebook in Robinsons Metroeast. The movie would've been great--if not for the low volume! I didn't even know that kind of boo boo could happen in a cinema!! Oh well.

We hung out at Je's place later on, and it was really nice to just be lounging around, joking around, basically just hanging around with really close friends. :) Over delivered food from Shakeys and a VCD of The Day After Tomorrow, we were basically just catching up on each others lives. Well, excluding Je, who, in exhaustion, decided to sleep. :)

Come Sunday, I met up with Renee and Kris again, in Eastwood this time, and watched Connie and Carla. All I can say is THANKS to both of them for meeting me on an otherwise boring day. :)

THANKS thanks thanks... I love you gurls! Hehe, sorry Je for robbing you of much needed sleep...

This week has made me think a lot about how much I miss my friends... Nee and I are planning an overnight stay at some hotel soon... a girls' night out! And I'm planning to watch another movie with Kathe and Mayang (and hopefully Lala) sometime soon too. This week has reminded me about how special they are to me, these girls, and I find that I want to spend even more time with them. :) It's been a while since I've had so much fun with them, and it felt g-r-e-a-t to be refreshed.

3. Carlo- Of course... What really made this week was the accomplishment of my long-awaited birthday gifts for this guy.

Last Thursday, I was FINALLY able to give him the ring (that FIT) and treat him to dinner and a movie at Eastwood. He chose to eat in Tokyo Tokyo and watch Anacondas afterwards. All night, he was in chat mode--talking to me about some issues he was stressing about, as well as day-to-day stories about what's been going on with him. Honestly? That's what I enjoyed so much about the evening--his honesty and light mood. I found that I appreciated how much he was telling me, how open he was about himself. It's not rare in our relationship, really, but I appreciated it nonetheless. It helped also, because I was quite tired that night--after coming from Galle the whole afternoon earlier--and his many topics got the night going without lapses of silence. :D

Being able to treat Carlo to a night out meant the world to me, since I rarely get to do it... I went home that evening perfectly content. He texted me later on that it was an evening he'd definitely remember... Well, same here, baby. :) Hope I get to do this again for you real soon.
